Guest guest
Wow, Dr. No would never demand that! Definitely try a different chiro! Also, times are tough, and chiros/pt's are hurting. She might be scheduling extra appointments to get the $. So, I had my second chiropractor appointment today, and am highly annoyed - BECAUSE she wants me to come THREE times a week for two weeks, then two times a week for 2 weeks, then once a week. I told her three times would be very hard for me to do and she basically didn't give me a choice. She said " well, you can bring your kids in....and I could change my appt if I was going to be in town a different day and blah..blah.., but if they ask I come in three times a week, I need to come in three times a week " . Whatever! With the price of gas, and me being pregnant..and busy.. umn... I don't think it's going to happen. .. So, I think I will be back at the drawing board for a chiro. My mom said she loves the one that she has used and doesn't push his services at all. While, the one I went to obviously helped tons. She just kinda bugs me too because she is so " by the book " . Their little routines are kind of annoying to me, and like the paperwork she gives me she has to go through each sheet and tell me what it is. Wasting my time..IMO.. hand me your folder and say " here's some reading material " . I don't know. Maybe I'm easily annoyed nowadays? It was just mostly so annoying to me that she pretty much said I HAD to come in three times a week. I wonder how many patients they use by not giving any other choice basically?? Or maybe when I call to say I won't be returning, they'll back down and tell me to come when I can? Hmm..D

Guest guest
Hi! I do think it was wrong of them to insist that you come in so often - I think her approach should have been "I recommend that you follow this treatment plan..." And, if you didn't agree, just let you have the option of dictating how often you could come in based on your schedule/needs. That said, I do believe there is a reason to go that often - it takes awhile for the body to "learn" to hold the adjustments. Eventually, you can go less often, but initially your body needs to "re-learn" where everything goes and the more repetition the body gets the faster it learns. You can go less often, but it may ultimately take longer to get the same results. In talking w/ my chiro, he said that people who have a limited number of visits due to insurance, will get the best results using all those visits in short succession rather than spreading them out. So, for instance, someone with a limit of 26 visits per year w/ an acute condition is better off going 3 times a week for 8 weeks rather than going once every other week for a year. Hope you can find someone to work w/ though!Donna To: Cathe_Friedrich_Fans ; exercisevideos <exercisevideos >; jessi barth Sent: Wed, March 30, 2011 12:36:36 PMSubject: OT / Chiropractor Vent.. Guest guest
Thanks Donna. I was looking forward to your thoughts... That's what I'm thinking w/ the chiro too. Why she wouldn't say something like " if this is too much, or if it doesn't work for you to come that often, we could try less to see if that would help " . Instead, she basically gave me no choice...GRR... They did a little automated schedule for my appointments before I left too. Another annoying thing - LOL! D  I'd say, no, if 1X per week is working then that is good - and I think she should be more open to having you go on your schedule! Guest guest
A pregnant woman in pain with small children along being easily annoyed? I'd think they could have trod a bit more lightly. They probably want to insist, because they've had too many experiences where the patient doesn't come in enough and/or follow the advice, then tells everyone it doesn't work. My mom is SOOOOO like that! Gets the doctor's advice, doesn't follow it and then claims the doctor didn't help her at all, and wants a new doctor.
