Gluten is in wheat. It is also in some other grains. So if it has wheat, it has gluten too.

Hello,Can some1 please clarify whether I have to just avoid gluten or do I have to buy products that state, 'gluten free and wheat free'? Some products just state that it's gluten free and there's no mention of wheat. I am confused....Thanks

Most common intolerance is to Wheat Gluten and less so in the other grains such as oats and rye... So they now make wheat free stuff, which still has some of the other glutens in it... Be careful with simply getting gluten free, because they tend to substituted wheat with corn.. My children have big problems with corn I think this is because it is a very acidic food.

We use a lot of rice pasta.. and although it does contain gluten, we can use spelt and oats as a substitute... Best Wishes

Tracey
