Guest guest
kathy how about the poise pads, the are made for urinary accidents, not for a full pee, but to catch the embarassing accidnets, like from sneezing spells or something, i have never used them but i thik Depends makes pads to for urinary incontinenc,e maybe she will wear those, as they arent 'heard ' by others like some plastic lined stuff has that crinkly, sound that the wearer swears that everyone hears even if they dont just a thought good luck and hugs, on another note, levaquin is a very strong antibiotic which is great for kidney infections, also macrobid/macrodanton for maybe 21days after that, is a longer term antibiotic frequenstly used as a preventatvie for infections but also used to get rid of the ;lingering leftovers that the other antibiotics may have left behind. hugs sharon -- Re: Lewy Body Dementia Incontinence Thanks Sharon for the info. My Mom knows she is having accidents and it is truly embarassing for her. She knows enough still to clean herself up after and is constantly washing her underclothing and pants. I did buy her some some pull up disposable panties but she refuses to wear them. I guess she is just not ready for that yet. I thought they would be less embarassing than the accidents in her clothes but guess not at this stage. Thanks for all of your support. Guest guest
Kathy, I didn't have this problem with Mom until she hit the nh. I do remember many caregivers talking about using whatever they use with usual undies. It prevented them being removed and it made it seem more " normal. " Also one of the tricks I used with Mom is wait for the opportunity and if she wants to go somewhere for an unusual length of time and she really wants to go, say it is to bad she can't use the depends and then you could all go! That kind of incentive got Mom into a transport chair. She really wanted to go to church and we had an unusual long walk due to the parking. I said I guess we would have to come back because she couldn't walk that far. All of a sudden she was willing to use the chair. Hope this helps. Donna R Do you want to read more about Lewy Body?
