I just saw one in a mailing ad that came to the house. It was a straight

rectangle with a round hole in the middle. It was of plastic or similiar

material but a towel would work find and all you would need is a velcro from one

edge of the circle to the edge of the towel for easy access.

I use to make play clothes for the kids like that with the underarms sewn. But

this one was wide open and looked easy.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Jacqui

I was actually thinking of making Mum a couple of smocks (like for

painting) - Probably out of something wild and cheerful and easy to

wash. In the meantime I will see if my Home Health Care store has

bibs.

One of the things I got when taking Mom out to eat is an adult bib.

Actually I got 2 bibs. One for her and one for me. Who cares if you

get looked at,

it made clean up a lot easier. Some times we would get a chuckle from

someone passing by. It was better than her having her food down the

front of her

clothes.

Just a suggestion. I got the bibs from a medical supply catalog Mom

used to

get. They were very inexpensive.

Thanks Richey:

My husband distributes bar supplies and has occaision to deal with a

restaurant supply place. I am going to call them.

The discussion about bibs led me to throw in my

two cents worth for the men...I bought

dark-colored tailored aprons (like they wear at

Starbucks) at an on-line restaurant supply house.

They were about $7.50 each (I don't sew) and my

husband is willing to wear them. They're

masculine, easy to slip over his head, and barely

noticeable when we do have a chance to eat out.

They also spread all over (I don't bother tying

them in back) so his trousers are protected from

spills.
