Why the heck can't he increase you now and back off your meds AFTER the breast

reduction!? It's not like you're gonna have the reduction tomorrow! You still

have to work and live your life. I'd call him everyday that the pain is too

much and ask for an increase in meds, but that's just me b/c I've been dealing

with medication stingy doctors for 12 years at least!

much love,

Thanks so much for taking a minute to answer my post.

I did end up talking to my Dr about my meds and at this time he does

not want to increase me just yet. I have a pending breast reducton and

he is positive that i will get some relief at that time. If not he

will either increase me or add a Fentnayl patch (which was rx'd by my

Pain mgt Dr...he has left the state of Calif due to work comp not

letting him rx what his pain pt's needed)

I am currently on 40mgs per day with nothing for breakthrough. I did

ask him about people getting nauseous on this med and he recommends

eating something before you take it.

Also the weather here has been so bad, rainy/cold that i know it makes

the pain worse. Not to mention i do work 3 12hr night shifts per week

(My Dr and i argue all the time about this, he wants me on SSDI, and i

tell him only if he will make up the rest of my income)

But today i did get to my water aerobics class and sat in the hot tub,

and i gotta work tonight and off tomorrow so i can rest. The pain is

still here, but what else is new???

Thanks again.

I am not sure if my personal experience will assist you in anyway but I will

try. I had a breast reduction 27 years ago. Twenty years old and had a month old

baby. My posture was getting so bad ~ something had to be done. I would highly

recommend the surgery to anybody with back problems but unfortunately did not

help with my pain. If you have increased pain after the surgery... impress upon

the surgeon you are a chronic pain sufferer. Good luck with your surgery..
