Guest guest
[so sorry ... I hit send on this message inadvertantly before finishing it .... my apologies] I am advocating for someone who has severe Environmental Illness and who lives in a specially designed suite. There are a number of problems re air quality issues, most notably simply that the building management refuses to change the filters more often than every six months, even though the building is in a highly polluted area with ongoing construction and probably need to be changed every two months. If an effort to help stop air infiltrating from outside the suite, we have a service technician coming to check and adjust the air handling system. What we want to achieve is a positive air pressure inside the suite, which will help in this regard. The air handling system is a heat recovery ventilator and an air scrubber. My understanding is that the intake air can be adjusted so it is bringing in slightly more air than is being extracted. Is there some sort of common ratio used to effect this? or is adjusting a unit in this way something that must take into account other factors in the home? Thanks for any help on this, Best regards, LaVerne Calgary, AB
