Guest guest
Dear all: I have been brewing kombucha for a couple of months now. My earlier batches were brewed with an organic darjeeling tea. For a change of pace I recently switched to brewing with an organic jasmine tea which, I learned afterward, is a green tea. The kombucha I brewed from the jasmine tea has tasted fabulous - much better than my black tea brews - and my SCOBYs seem to perform much more robustly in the green tea. However, I am concerned that brewing with a green tea may not produce a brew with as much or as many of the health benefits of a black tea brew. Is anyone aware of any research or other information on the relative benefits of brewing with green tea versus black tea? Has anyone ever tried an oolong tea kombucha? Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.
