That's a nerve disorder in my face. There is a nerve and blood vessel in my brain that keep knocking each other causing electric like shocks thru my ear and cheek. Eating is painful, brushing hair is painful, yawning, sometimes just getting up in the morning HURTS. So welcome, Ive found everyone here is WONDERFUL in the way of support! in Boston
Guest guest
-- Thanks for the welcome! Is there anything available to ease the pain you suffer? I can't imagine how it must hurt, although I have a feeling it s a lot like the feeling I get in my fingers when my arthritis is bad. It feels like someone has an ice pick in the joint when I try to close my hand. Since I'm a stitcher, it usually ends any plans I might have to do just about anything. We have rain moving in for the next 2 days, and I'm sure feeling it! Hehehe, I always did have an interest in weather...if I'd only know I was going to get so good at it, I could have become a forecaster! (G) I love your daughter's name. 3 year olds can be a lot of fun, and they're so cute. Marg -- Re: Re: Introduction-MARG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
Welcome Marg, Do you use any type of elastic glove for stitching through the pain? I crochet and usually an elastic glove with wrist wrap helps get right through it. I especially have pain in my right index finger so I tape it over my middle finger so I don't use it. The kids say it looks stupid but there's no pain! much love, barb k. Marg B wrote: Since I'm a stitcher, it usually ends any plans I might have to do just about anything. Guest guest
Barb-- As I've already mentioned, I use Hand-Eze gloves, which are similar to what you're describing, and as a matter of fact, I just ordered a pair of Hand-Eze Plus gloves with the warming/cool pillow insert. (G) I'm not sure I could stitch without using my index finger, but then I've never tried it. And I agree with you--who cares if it looks stupid, as long as it keeps me either pain free or almost, enough to let me keep on stitchin'! My daughter always has a laugh when I am wearing my glasses instead of contacts, and end up with a pair of reading glasses over them to help me see. We have a close relationship and " play " with each other all the time (we even have our own word sign " ...not sure what to call it, but we have a series of word responses in sequence...starts with the word " boo " and proceeds through a set of words to " Ok " . Hehe, funny thing, I've been sitting here depressed about my pain level right now, and talking about my baby is making me smile. I sure do miss her--she's visiting friends until Sunday--I think I'll give her a call just to tell her I love her. (G) Marg -- Re: Re: Introduction-MARG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
You could stitch without an index finger if you had too. I have to give it up especially after working on the keyboard all day at my switchboard job. This is my 2nd day in a row and it's just throbbing - I'll wrap it when I get home. I cannot type without it so no wrapping at work. I do crochet and answer emails at work - very cheesy job that I have. I work on a computerized switchboard at a hospital. The real problem is I have a herniated disc in my neck that causes the index finger to go bananas, the arthritis isn't that bad but add the numbness, pain and tingling from the disc and I'm a goner. That is so sweet that just talking about your daughter brought you joy - did you call and tell her you love her yet?? much love, barb k.
