Dear all,

Can anybody help me to understand what my son's behaviour could be indicating?

He is never still and finding it very difficult to concentrate. He is also

struggling with OCD. He is scripting alot and making silly noises. He argues

alot and quite often shouts at us.

However underneath all of this are wonderful gains in language, understanding

of the world and even academic work when i can get him to focus.

I don't know if it is yeast, adrenal stress or heavy metals and can't afford the

tests. I feel like i am going in all directions and don't know what to do

first.

Has anyone any thoughts?

Many thanks,

. x

For me with my NT who was very like this when young with constant moving and lack of concentration and dancing around and making strange sounds, it was a combination of dyslexia/ dyspraxia remaining undiagnosed and real problems maintaining an airway.. so the constant moving and lack of concentration was indicative of low oxygen levels and attempts to move and breath better.

Hi , if he has OCD he will find it extremely hard to concentrate on anything, OCD generally means intrusive thoughts.

I would be looking at things like PANDA's or Pyroluria.

Yeast can make this a whole lot worse so you will need a good yeast protocol in place. Have you ever tried Inositol? My oldest is diagnosed with OCD and before looking at Pyroluria seriously I gave him Inositol and it really did help. Do you know if bacteria is an issue, you could try Manuka Honey, you would need 10+, can be bought in Asda, this is something I give to my son with good results, get the yeast under control first.

I can't be doing tests for two children so it means long way round but if you have a system, ie yeast, bacteria, Inositol, then think about PANDA's and Pyroluria, always get one thing up and running before trying something else. Pyroluria can be treated with Zinc and B6/P5P along with other supplements, look at KPU.

Has anyone seen your son, ie CAMHS? Could he take psychometric testing?

My oldest was to his knees with OCD, he was frequently sick and utterly miserable, he is considerably better now, although not out of the woods by any means.

, virtually all of our kids suffer adrenal stress IMO. I wouldn't bother

testing but just try to address it in the usual ways. Also, if inositol is

taking the edge off, you can go pretty high in dosing that.

Yeast testing is not particularily reliable either. If he is GAPS you

shouldn't have many yeast issues, I would think, but for a kid with a poor

immune system, yeast can rear its head anytime. If he was on antibiotics young,

I would suggest biotin supplements as an approach to yeast--cheap and helps to

address the problem.

Testing for metals is again pretty unreliable. Even a hair test on a kid who

has been treated for a few years wouldn't really be of much help possibly. The

best way, IMO, is to try 10 or so rounds of Cutler chelation and see what

happens.

Great that you're seeing good stuff--much better than seeing only the bad things

:-)
