It is possible that the dots could be eggs/larvae of the fruitfly. If they are, you can wash them off with vinegar. It should not affect the scoby negatively long term nor the KT. Let us know what you find. Could they have come from your water? Can you rinse the dots off or are they part of the Kombucha Colony? Just some thoughts perhaps others will know more.
