Tess,

My Grandmother was much like your Aunt June. When I look at all she did with her

deformed hands and feet and the constant pain - I still marvel at it. We are

fortunate because we have better meds today. Whenever I get discouraged, I think

about my Grandma and 'if she could do it so can I'

Your Aunt June sounds like a real inspiration. It was wonderful of you to share

that with the list. Not everyone is as fortunate as you and I. Some people have

never known anyone with RA or if they do it is someone who was not able to go on

with life. We all need reminders that there is plenty of life and joy even when

we are diagnosed with this dreadful disease.

Dear Noreen...your talking about your Dad with RA reminded me so much of

my dear Aunt June. She lives in Atlanta, and we live near Portland.

She will be 80 in August, but comes here twice a year. She has had RA

since her 40's, and her hands are very deformed. But by golly, she puts

her fingernail polish on, lipstick everyday, helps my Mom with the

cooking, goes on walks with my Dad though her RA has deformed her feet

and toes as well. If I would beome half as courageous and tenacious as

she is I would be grateful.

Love & hugs...

Tess
