I want to start an after school/weekend programme with Rose. Just an hour a day to begin with. She currently averages P Level 5 (in some areas she is P Level 7 - that's in self help and IT). My question to you is where do I find P Level appropriate resources/workbooks to assist her? I'd like to start with simple tasks like tracing numbers, letters and shapes etc. Ideally, I'd like to follow a set programme/worksheets if there are such things out there.I'd really appreciate any help. Many thanksEsme x
Guest guest
Hi Esme - Have you looked at the Kumon work books - they have early maths, early literacy, upper and lower case letters, simple sentences. I think they are particularly good for - tracing, cutting, simple mazes (each a different workbook with really well thought through visuals) and other visual perceptual/perceptual motor stuff - www.kumon.com. I found them in the US but you can probably get them from Amazon. Guest guest
Its used in many ABA/Verbal Behaviour programs " Assessment of basic language and learning skills " It has a beginner, intermediate and advance curriculum and once completed is the equivalent of what a typical five year old understands and can ask/answer.It doesn't cover the nonverbal communication and stuff covered in the RDI curriculum. So probably not for your Sam . Guest guest
hello kirsty, abells is a great book but I prefer vbmapp we have used both on home aba/vb program, it goes through the stages, 0-18 months 18-36months and 36-48 months, by the end stage we should be able to have been able to learn pretty much anything to get our child up the normal levels.you can get it on amazon and similar sites.... > > > > > > > > > From: esmewillcocks <esmewillcocks@> > > > Subject: OT - Home Education > > > To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe > > > Date: Wednesday, 20 July, 2011, 19:57 > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > > > I was hoping some of you that home educate could help me.
