Guest guest
My 4 year old son Logan is on day 17 of Valtrex. He has had a hard time falling asleep at night and sometimes is up very very late. This exhausts him (and us.) We have given him Benadryl for two nights this week and he fell asleep. We tried Melatonin and it made him even more hyper. My question is this... Can Benadryl interfere with the effectiveness of Valtrex treatment? By the way Logan too has had black flecks in his poop. His appetite is dramatically less at meal times, but he is constantly telling me that he is hungry. His skin tone looks much more peach as opposed to his previous gray. His dramatic play is increasing. He has been drooling since starting Valtrex and that seems to be getting better. He is hyper! Hyper Hyper! Then able to focus completely (He is reading now and can focus intently on books for some time) He is asking questions and initiating many more comments. He had a small red rash for 1 day. 3 chicken pox looking dots and that is it as far as rashes go- which is way different from my 2 year old! He has a few skin toned eczema looking spots. When he first started taking this he made this weird sound like he is clearing something in his nose. He does it occassionally now. Overall the results are good.
