Yes just the mushroom, pure water and white sugar will

produce one baby and new KT but each succeeding generation

will be weaker and weaker until no ferment. At least in my

attempts. happens as the kombucha fails to replenish itself.

or so I theorize. I do not encounter that if I add 25%

Camellia Sinensis (tea) to the ferment. That's what I based

by conclusions on Yerba Mate, Rooibos and other herbal teas

relation to kombucha. At least it is an easy enough

experiment for people to do at home themselves and maybe

others will give it a go.

Hi Ed and EveryOne,

A man that I knew from the Philippines did made Kombucha

from sugar

and water alone.....it was used for making both candies and

paper and

not for making Kombucha tea.

The health benefits of Kombucha tea as we know it are from a

brew made

with the Camelia Sinensis (tea) plant and sugar but it is

possible to

make Kombucha from just Kombucha, sugar, and water....

He made huge sheets of the Kombucha Colony from which paper

was then

made. Interesting! Kombucha had also been used for bandages

and drum

heads etc.....amazing substance.

Peace, Love and Harmony,

Bev
