Guest guest
I don't know if any of you subscribes to Mercola's newsletter, but in the most recent one I received he boasts that we now can all order raw milk from him. He is selling and shipping frozen Raw milk, cream, butter, Colostrum and variety packs. I feel like jumping for joy. This is a big deal. Let the revolution begin! I hope you all find out how he is able to do it and can accomplish the same at lower costs. I can't believe I just payed $10 for a gallon of milk and $20 to ship it! Buying a farm is sounding cheaper by the minute. http://www.mercola.com/forms/organic_pastures.htm#order
Guest guest
I believe how he is doing it might be that if he injects just a small amount of colostrum into the milk and freezes it - it is no longer considered raw dairy, but rather a food supplement, which is not regulated. I'm not sure, but I think it's suppose to contain at least 1% colostrum. Anyone out there know for sure? As for the shipping - the average cost is going to run about $1.00 per pound via UPS. A gallon of milk weighs 8.6 pounds ($8.60 for shipping). Add insulated packaging to that and the price goes way up! Those darn boxes are not cheap!!! Guest guest
Interesting...now that would be helpful to some farmers. We're now legal as all our dairy is labels as livestock feed. If we get challanged in court I don't know though. I figured Mercola is getting around this by getting it from Organic Pastures, the legal raw dairy in Ca. I wonder about shipping across states though. I've heard in Ga it's illegal to transport across state lines. (have no idea how the big pasturized boys do it for Krogers). Organic Pastures is sold legally in Ga in one health food store but it's sold as a pet product. I guess that is legal to ship pet across state lines.
