When had his paracentesis, they cultured the fluid to see if there

were bacteria present. Do you talk directly with your sister's doctor? Have

you asked him (or has she asked him) about this?

My understanding is that when they remove something from someone's body,

they test it to make sure it's what they think it is. The blood should

concern you. It might have been either present in the fluid or have come

from the paracentesis instruments damaging something during the process.

Again, what does the doctor say? Was the paracentesis guided by ultrasound?
