I am very > concerned. Thank you for your help. When had his paracentesis, they cultured the fluid to see if there were bacteria present. Do you talk directly with your sister's doctor? Have you asked him (or has she asked him) about this? My understanding is that when they remove something from someone's body, they test it to make sure it's what they think it is. The blood should concern you. It might have been either present in the fluid or have come from the paracentesis instruments damaging something during the process. Again, what does the doctor say?
