Re: introductions and more

Hi Sara,

I'm relatively new and I have to say I am astounded by how much this group has grown just since I signed on about three months ago or so. By virtue of the fact that we would be perfect strangers if we passed on the streets, I personally think it is a great idea to continue with intros the way it's been. Without them, a name is just a name and in the end it takes longer to answer people's questions, etc if you don't know at least a little something about them. Also, I hate having to reinto myself over and over on those groups where people just "show up one day". I understand that no one can actually keep up with every detail on everyone - new or old, but some can keep up with a few and others with a few others, and on and on, etc. I think that is what makes this group grow and work and continue to thrive while so many other groups are *dead* like a cup of pasteurized and homogenized store bought milk. ( how

convenient that statement was --- heh heh :o)

I agree, there are a lot of emails, but if not, would I have leared all this great stuff??? Nope!! I love this group!! That's my $.02!

PS A couple more pennies......I was also thinking about the amount of newcomers we've had while drying my hair this morning. I was wondering if there has ever been a member poll to find out how many people are in which states/countries, etc?? It is so interesting to see who is from where and whether or not raw milk sales are legal (and how permitted -- ie on farm, stores or thru cow shares only, etc.) Also this might help some people that assume it is legal when it's not in their partic area (or quite the opposite) I know my county does not have a WAP chapter, but I've also wondered how many other people out there live in my area and are even interested in raw dairy? I want a local chapter personally and am willing to do it myself, but what fun would that be if it were only me! :o) lol

~wren - feeling lonely in my search for healthy foods here in San Texas!!

Subject heading:Subscribing input. Would you members like Janet and I to keep the usual protocol of forwarding new members' letters on to the group? Or do you want us to adopt a new protocol of just screening them and subscribing them (giving them full access to the group), and leaving it to them to introduce themselves, if ever ? I will assume that if you don't say anything, you are fine with the situation as is. So if you'd like to see introductory letters sent along BY the

moderators STOP, speak up! ..................................................................

Back to the introductory letter, another option that Janet and I could do, is to sorta summarize all the members in one letter, i.e. name and location of 6 new members in one email. ................................ Sara----------------

I think it would be really great if when a new person is introduced

the subject line of the email contained their name and where they are

from. I also like to know where people are from, and with all the

new people joining sometime I can't keep up, but would be sure to

read the email from local people so I could help them with whatever

they needed.

Just my two cents....

Thanks;

Jill

I like this idea very much. Anyone want to take the initiative and

start a poll???
