ALA dilemma

Okay here's the dilemma in seeing 2 docs - eventually they will

disagree with one another and leaving you to make the decision.

Doc 1 - the DAn doc/energy tester - wants my son to get 1/2 tsp a day

of Phospho lipid exchange. It containes Phospholipids, a bit of EDTA,

and a bit of ALA. It is to help break down the biofilm and also

chelate.

Here is the product:

http://www.biopureus.com/docs/PHOSPHOLIPID%20EXCHANGE.pdf

1/2 tsp of the product would mean only 8.3 mg ALA per day. Seems like

a tiny amount to me.

But Doc 2 - the allergist DAN doc - is concerned about the ALA

potentiating movement of mercury into the brain if the body burden of

mercury is not reduced enough.

Doc 1 repsonded to this with this:

The concern with ALA is valid because it does freely cross the BBB. I

am fine if you want to return it and use just EDTA in its place. I

don't typically use ALA until the body load is cleared up, but I have

found that the tiny amounts in the phospholipid exchange, especially

when dosed more than once daily (or with EDTA at a different time of

day), it seems to really help move metals OUT of the brain. At least

that is what I have been observing over the past 18 months or so with

ART and also with verbal breakthroughs and behaviors.

Any thoughts on this folks?

Thanks,

Beth

sorry I can't help much, but will share some thoughts. I have heard

of people who only use ALA and don't have problems with it. I have

also heard of people who had problems with EDTA due to it lowering

calcium levels. I am guessing your child does not have those silver

(mercury) dental fillings; I would not use either if they were

present. Sorry, this is all the help I can be. Chelation scared me

so much that I am still working on a plan for it. I just use

Pectasol Chelation Complex since it is safe. I am seeing if it will

work, and maybe I can avoid the other stuff altogether. I wonder if

you can ask at the yahoo group " Chelatingkids2 " or ask more questions

of your doc concerning his other patients that took it.
