Guest guest
I am still awaiting my ability to get raw dairy, so right now am just drinking kefir'ed organic milk. My question is this, do you get a lot of phlegm with raw dairy? My milk allergies have disappeared with the use of the kefir, but I still notice quite a lot of phlegm. Guest guest
Hey Angel! Glad to have you move on over here from Vinny's sites. The Phlegm thing.... is coming from your Sinuses. Likely the Kefir is activating some Cleansing responses from that area via the salivary and parotid glands in your mouth. It's a mechanism called Oral Resistence. There's a huge Integumentary System up in the head that can only be reached by Liquids or by direct Nasal access. One of our WAPF members I visited today has been snorting up diluted Three-Lac powder/Sea Salt in Water Kefir to help this out. Her sinuses were causing daily headaches, so you should be an easy case to "cure" with her method. Now knowing all you know about EM brews, etc, you could come up with something really "creative" and effective. My kind of Girl...lol. Guest guest
Terry, Actually I have not been getting any sinus congestion, though I have used the therapy you mention off and on throughout the years...thank you for suggesting it. Phlegm is actually attributed to several things, such as an inability to process food, allergies, toxins, etc. According to the Chinese:: Cause of PhlegmThe main cause of Phlegm is Spleen deficiency. If the Spleen fails to transform and transport Body Fluids, these will accumulate and change into Phlegm. The Lungs and Kidneys are also involved in the formation of Phlegm. If the Lungs fail to disperse and lower fluids and if the Kidneys fail to transform and excrete fluids, these may accumulate into Phlegm. However, the Spleen is always the primary factor in the formation of Phlegm. According to Dr. Mercola raw milk produces less phlegm problems than pasteurized. Has anyone on this list noticed a difference? Drinking kefir has been the main source of my weight gain, and I am very glad for it due to my medical condition. I was just hoping that there would be less phlegm with the raw milk. I look forward to trying it! Blessings, -AngelKirkland Washington Hey Angel! I was just hoping that there would be less phlegm with the raw milk. I used to get very phlegmy with p/h milk (boy, that looks strange typed out - is that spelled correctly? " phlegmy " ... huh). Had the same problem the first couple of days with raw (probably because I was so excited and it tasted so danged good I kept drinking, like, a gallon within four hours or so!). But then it stopped, and I've never had any problems with that since. Maybe those first few days were just those lovely bacteria and sech doing their job to clean me all out. MFJ Everything connects. Has anyone on this list noticed a difference? 15 years ago when I drank the store-bought milk, even the brand without rBGH (bovine growth hormone), I was constantly coughing up phlegm. I concluded I must be allergic to milk, so I switched to soy milk (I know, I know...). I drank that stuff off and on for about 10 years. Raw milk does not produce anywhere near the amount of phlegm the H & P stuff did, just a bit every day, which my doc says is likely my lungs clearing out pollutants or irritants. *shrug* ~Joe
Guest guest
, I was always stuffed up it seemed, not really congested, but more like my nasal passages were inflamed so that I would breath almost completely out my mouth instead of in tandem with my nose like I do now. The Pasteurized milk was undoubtedly the cause, because I still get stuffed up on the rare occasion I eat Ben & Jerry's ice cream. I am otherwise completely RAW dairy and have since been able to breath through my nose entirely if I so choose. The fresh Parmesan is also an exception to the complete raw dairy. I haven't noticed yet whether or not that affects me. I never had any excess phlegm from past. milk though. Tony R. Minneapolis, MN Where it is legal to buy RAW milk from the farm.
