Guest guest
, In all of the hospital and research facilities I have been in 30 years, the autopsy rooms were maintained at normal room temperatures. However, due to odor and formaldehyde concentrations, special exhaust systems and air supplied was required for each room. I would look more are standards for exhaust ventilation first. Guest guest
Boothby, I checked with out Regional Forensic Science Center - temperature in the autopsy room is determined by the comfort requirements of the person(s) working in the room. Here, the temperature is typically set at about 65 degrees F, but some individuals prefer it cooler (it can be hot working in all the PPE they wear) and adjust the thermostat accordingly. Please note that the temperature of the room is not related to refrigeration temperatures for storage purposes. I look at the ASHRAE HVAC Design and Manual for Hospitals and Clinics and at the AIA Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospital and Health Care Facilities and there is no recommendation for Temp on that area. Any literature or guideliness ? we can use as a reference. Boothby Technical Director In-Viro Care Inc.
