Guest guest
Hello all. My name is and my 34 month old daughter, Rebekah, was confirmed autism spectrum December. I am all too familiar what to expect as my nephew who is 6 was diagnosed several years ago. Rebekah seems to be high functioning yet is at a 14 month old level on her social & communication. Her diagnosis was more of a confirmation as I had already seen the signs and have been working with my local school system through their assessment now evalution process for early intervention services. We meet next Thursday re: her IEP eligibility. I also have a 6 year old, Hannah, & 1 year old, . Hannah is if anything possibly ADHD and thus far although taken emergency c- sec 2 1/2 months early blossoming well. I am leary about her immunizations and taking that a step at a time. Rebekah is out of our 3 flowers, the most content, loving child. She is beautiful and special. My husband & I are having a hard time dealing with her non-verbal communication and I have tried to work with her & learn baby sign language but she has no interest. She normally just has a fit until we either figure it out & get her what she wants or needs or give up & let her scream. The past 2 weeks she has started saying open, up and down which is a big progress in her communication. I am interested in starting a GF diet and wish to find a way to communicate. I am open to any & all suggestions. Thanks for listening.
