Guest guest
Hi, Kate and welcome to the group. Both of my daughters have OCD and the youngest one was seven when she was diagnosed. It can be so hard! I know that meds can take up to twelve weeks to reach their full effect and that in the beginning sometimes symptoms can get worse. Both of my daughters experienced reactions but their behavior didn't really change--it just increased. You sound like you are familiar with medications and if you are uncomfortable with the Prozac, tell your doctor. When my oldest daughter needed a med change from Zoloft to something else, we chose Luvox because her younger sister was doing well on it. If there is a history of bad reactions to meds in your family, I would pursue it. There is a lot to be said for mother's intuition. Be aware that her behavior will probably get worse before it gets better on any med but since you are obviously not sold on the Prozac, I would ask for a change. Keep posting. I don't know what I would do some days without this site! Kelley in NV
