Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Today I started the Overdrive phase of Firm Express. If the rest of the workouts are anything like the one I did today(Sculpt), I will LOVE this phase. Kelsie s is the lead - she is an awesome instructor, and I admit, I relate more to her than the others b/c she is closer to my age (she is 40 - whereas and Rebeckah are still in their late 20's and is early 30's) and b/c of that her physique is especially inspiring to me - she is in great shape! Plus, I liked the exercises in this one - you can go heavier b/c there are fewer "combined" exercises where you work both upper and lower, so you can pick challenging weights for the parts you are working. The recommendaiton for this phase is 5-15 lb weights - I used up to 12's but next time I shall pull out my 15's and possibly my 20's! The cardio bursts in the Sculpt workout are a bit lower key - and 3 of the 4 bursts use light weights. I'm looking forward to doing the others in this phase. After I finished up w/ the FIRM I did 10 min of the "cellulite" workout on Tracey Mallett's Get Your Body Back Workout (this one is unweighted lower body work - lots of pulses and reps - pretty challenging!), I also did the Phase 1 abs and butt sections from Tracey Mallett's Lose the Belly Flab Workout. The ab work wasn't that challenging for me, but the butt work was! Tracey uses a resistance band for athletic and Pilates-inspired floorwork - nothing really unique here, but effective traditional moves. The band really ups the intensity. I stretched out on my own. Hope everyone has a good Sunday. I plan to finally get my home office cleaned/organized! Take care - Donna
Guest guest
Donna I want to do a Tracey Mallet rotation at some point too. I like her workouts a lot, but have maybe done 3 or 4 of the total amount I have. There's a nice variety with her stuff - pilates, barre, kickboxing and bootcamp! Guest guest
I like the way you describe this Firm Express phase and it sounds very interesting. I haven't done many Kelsie workouts but I've liked most of them and I agree, her physique is very inspiring. I hadn't thought about the ages though and maybe that's part of why I do find her inspiring. I think I'll procrastinate about work some more and go check out Tracey Mallett workouts on collage now! ;-) Sunday - Overdrive, Tracey Mallett Hi Everyone, Today I started the Overdrive phase of Firm Express.
