Guest guest
Alisa, Welcome to our group! We have many people in Australia that have children with Mosaic Down syndrome. Where do you live? Perhaps someone is close to you. You will find a great support system here full of loving families willing to help out all the time. If you haven't already done so, make sure you check out our web site at www.mosaicdownsyndrome.com Here you will find all sorts of information on MDS. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask! Guest guest
Dear Alisa, Hello and welcome to the group! I love the group here, and have found many "kindred spirits" among it's members. I am Barb Martz from W. Pennsylvania, USA. We seem to have a good many friends here from your area of the world. I hope you can connect with them too. I tried to read all I could about MDS when we found out our son Jonas, who is 1 1/2 now, had it. There was perhaps one sentence in an entire book about Down's Syndrome dedicated to MDS and that was all. My brother and sister in law in Texas, USA found this site and sent us this computer as a gift so we could access this very group! That was like throwing me (an expensive) life raft. I had become rather depressed and was trying to think that Jonas was going to do very well, but I did not feel like anyone really understood what I was feeling. Then I got on here and now I have all the expert advice I could ever want. There could be no better experts than those who are raising and living with these great kids, and those adults on this site who have MDS themselves. I am happy that you have joined us, and I do look forward with joy to hearing more about your journey with Kirk over the past 11 years. I trust he is well and doing well in school etc. Once again, welcome! Barb Martz Mom to Jonas 1 1/2 (MDS) & 7 Hi I'm new here Hi everyone it's nice to be here. And for the members on this list from other states, I was wondering if your state have support groups where parents could meet and talk. Thanks in advance. Guest guest
Davina, There are local Down Syndrome Support groups throughout. If you want, I could probably find out the one in your area. We were recently discussing having some sort of state get togethers for our members. According to my records, and they need updating, we have 3 other families that live in land. If you would like, I could privately email you their information.
