Guest guest
Marilyn, Thank you for all the answers to my questions. I have a few more I top posted, with ......before and after.... hope that's not too confusing. ........What exactly is the " blood transfusion " effect?....... > > and I > > think you said you're > > doing 5+ quarts a day. > > But you wouldn't have to. I'm trying to get that > " blood transfusion " effect. .........In Oregon you can buy raw dairy from the farm, but I think the demand is as you've said - people are happy with their p/h milk - or maybe they just don't know any better! I didn't till I read NT and read Dr Mercola, then joined this group and read The Untold Story of Milk......... > > The money wouldn't be as big > > a problem ... as the availability of > > the milk. ... I'm not sure there > > is anyone in my > > area who could supply me that much, what with their > > other customers. > We don't because people > are happy with their p/h milk. So we have the opposite > problem, too much milk. ..........I'm still wondering if the milk diet could be used as a form of weight loss. Maybe with more of the dairy in the form of kefir, since I think it's supposed to have less sugars........ > > I have gained at least one pound. My weight is not > really a problem. I solved my excess weight issue when > I entered the Body for Life contest in 2000 and > started working out with weights. I still use my > kettlebells now but have discontinued my gym > membership. ..........Are you in the menopausal stage yet? And if so, have you found that the milk diet is good overall for any symptoms you may have? - I am 47 (48 in Dec and having some changes including hot flushes, not really hot flashes but annoying nontheless)......... > > What about your general health? > > Pretty good compared to most 50 year old women. ..........Oh, but the below just proves my point! If a person can down a dozen eggs/day and drink lots of cream and still *struggle* to get their total cholesterol *up* to 183 - that would be just the ammunition needed to get past the cholesterol phobic statin happy doctors!!!..... But since I was eating a dozen eggs/day > all last year and enough cream to give anyone else a > liver attack I bought one of those home cholesterol > tests. I was hoping to get my cholesterol over 200 > (and now I read that the magic number is 220) but alas > it was only 183. I think a person has to eat more > carbs to get it past 200. > > Rereading the above paragraph I realize that would > sound absolutely insane to the cholesterol phobic > person. > > > - I know - I > > know cholesterol is a non-issue, but it might be a > > good *argument* if > > you will, for someone with a doctor threatening to > > put someone on > > statins (and they all are!) > > Since they lowered the standards, everyone now is a > candidate for statins. Today is my 15th day on mostly milk. ........This is really good to hear! That might become the answer to getting some stuff done that we've been putting off due to lack of energy or ambition............ > > How's your > > energy? > > Much better, but it was good before. For example, I I call it both > energy AND ambition. I don't feel bad or bloated or > anything like that. Just have hard stools. > > > Are you eating anything at all? > > I've been having one fruit meal with cream per day. .........limit yourself to one cupful of cream a day - won't the cholesterol docs have a hayday with that one!............. > > Do you just drink raw > > milk, or do you drink kefir > > some of my milk is in the form of kefir > > > drink extra > > cream, > > yes, my favorite beverage by far and away. I limit > myself to one cupful ..........Having a little cheese and butter I would think would help that need to nibble occasionally........ > > nibble on > > butter, > > you must be psychic. How did you know? > > (Did I miss anything?) > > Yes, cheese. Every few days I will have a slice of the > cheese I make with a thick slab of butter on it. This > is a taste test. I don't fill up on it. .........At 50 and a size 4!!!!!!!and on 3000 whole milk, cheese, butter and cream calories a day!!!!........ > I think it is very possible to gain weight on milk. I > did gain a pound or two the first few days because I > was drinking a pint every hour (six quarts/day) and > that was 4000+ calories. Now I figure I get about 3000 > calories. I haven't gained any more weight and still > fit into a size 4. I must be burning the extra > calories. I'm sure I was not eating 3000 calories on > my diet previous to the milk diet. > I think the way to lose weight on milk is to drink it > strictly according to hunger. Don't look at the clock, > but have 8-10 ounces only when you really feel hungry. > You could probably get by with a gallon or less per > day. Even now I'll drink a glass of milk when I'm not > really hungry. This is a no-no when you are trying to > lose weight. ......Thank you for all the information! I am very impressed! And thank you for the candid answers. I'm figuring that there are those on this list that are interested in the milk diet as well - if not now then sometime in their futures....... Rhonda Southern Oregon, where raw milk is legal to buy from the farm, provided they have 3 or less milking cows/9 or less milking goats - making the few who do sell from the farm busy trying to fulfill the raw milk drinkers needs.
