ENG>PORT: RDA and LEAKY GUT SYNDROME

Dear List Members,

I am translating a text from English into Brazilian Portuguese and I have

two questions:

- RDA - recommended dietary allowance - can I leave the abbreviation like

this in Portuguese or is there one in Portuguese? I have not found any,

neither in my Steadman, nor in my Dorland... The excerpt from the text

reads:

" Recent studies have proven that almost everyone requires one or more

vitamins far in excess of FDA-suggested RDA amounts to avoid illness. "

My other question concerns LEAKY GUT SYNDROME - is it correct to translate

this into Portuguese as PERMEABILIDADE INTESTINAL?

The excerpt from the text:

" Many digestive problems, such as LEAKY GUT SYNDROME, will contribute to

long-term degenerative disease of not diagnosed and corrected. "

Hello Cássia,

a.. RDA - " VALOR DIÁRIO DE REFERÊNCIA " (see

http://www.copacabanarunners.net/rotulos-dos-alimentos.html) - (VD). This is the

most up-to-date.

I also found: " RECOMENDAÇÃO NUTRICIONAL DIARIA " , " RECOMENDAÇÃO DIARIA DE

INGESTÃO " " RECOMENDAÇÃO MÉDIA DIÁRIA DE NUTRIENTES " - adaptations of " RDA " and

the texts mentioned that these were North American dietary criteria.
