Dear KerryMy eldest NT finds that punching, ducking and diving on the free standing punch bag is a really effective way of helping his very lazy and slow colon.  And also, though cannot speak from experience, have you tried using Rooibos tea as a drink. has a good natural laxative effect on some.. Was safe to use on my DD with a seizure problem..

Does anyone know of any other effective ways of doing a clearout apart from high dose's of movicol? Def never doing Picolax again, far to strong. Just find that 6 movicol clearout for 3 days takes alot out of Harry and I only did a clearout 2 weeks ago and poo's gone soup like again. I am trying half a teaspoon of epsom salts orally twice a day and upping movicol to 4. Has anyone else tried epsom salts to clear out?

Know that Kirsty said the Diacom gets them going, I have this on order but dont know if I should do the clearout first as don't want to leave him much longer.

A known side effect of higher doses of Xylitol is diarrhoea (see Wikipedia entry

as an example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xylitol )

I don't know whether it has ever been medically tried for a clearout? (I have

accidental experience of one.)

Prune juice helps with peristalsis.

people on this list used to use/are still using Oxypowder for clearouts.

Kerry, oxypowder can work quite well. I've found it's easy to use on a

maintenance dose too. DS is up and down, but have found during some peperiods

that two every second day was just the right dose to avoid having to do the

clearouts.
