Guest guest
I don't send Christmas cards myself, I send out cards for Mother's Day to everyone I've seen in the past year.. - Do you find this to be rewarding in any way? Are the moms done with you, your services, your products by then or do they contact you as a result of these cards? Just curious. Guest guest
Nicola, I am sending out cards and did also last year - I am certified two years now. I also had a hard time finding a card with mothers and babies - so I just went with a winter theme. This one has white snow flakes - white = milk. - Stretching a little. The one cards you might find are with and Jesus - not all my clients are catholic. This year I picked out two sided postcards - with envelopes and my name on both sides - I liked the way it looked. (glossy too) I also send to doctors that I either worked with or if I worked with their patients. I send to everyone and also if they rented a pump. I have ordered 250 of them - I hope it will be enough. Also some of the doctors will be the same so that works too. I use www.vistaprint.com they seem to be the best - and my Inlaws own a printing company - It is more expensive through them. I may even hire a mom (barter a pump rental ) to do the envelopes and look through my files to compile the labels. Good Luck - It is all part of advertising and networking - the moms remember your name and refer friends and the doctors office get to see your name more and it looks very professional. Guest guest
I do the Mothers day cards also. As I said before its all advertising - the more your name is out there the better. I have gotten repeat clients (2nd babies) and they then remember you. I truly think it is a nice thing to do to say thank you. When you do consults you create a bond - we are there at such a difficult crazy time - and if we are able to help even a little they remember that and tell friends and doctors. Our mothers are our best advocates to the doctors and our best advertising. I treat every mom as if she was my only patient and maybe they remember that warm fuzzy feeling. I think cards whether holiday or just thank you is a good thing. Regards Donna
Guest guest
Also, if you do order from vistaprint - you really do not need to pay extra for fast delivery - my order from this weekend is already shipped - and I did 21 days delivery - if you get closer to christmas you may have to. I have no interest in this company - but I really like them I have all my printing except the brochures (they can be expensive) done there. My business cards are nice too. Guest guest
Nice idea. You might have a picture you own made into cards at the local photo developing shop. Guest guest
Nicola, Interesting marketing. I'm not sure I would call them Christmas cards, although it depends your population. Maybe a New Year's card/Sesons Greetings would be best. Are you sending cards to HCPs who referred to you or you saw their patients? This would be a nice marketing tool. Hi Nicola, Quite a while ago (a couple of years now), I ordered some very pretty cards from a woman named DeMas whose email was: Demas@.... The cards are homemade and individually printed using a block print w/ink. The image is of a mother looking down on her baby who is nursing. I really like them- very sweet representation of mother/baby. Guest guest
Only personally rewarding, it feels good to thank them for their business and let them know I haven't forgotten them. I've not had a mother contact me because of these cards. - aconsmith@... wrote: In a message dated 11/8/2006 5:26:51 A.M. Guest guest
hi all, Long time no write. Sorry, just been so so busy. But I was so impressed by this idea - doesn't matter which holiday, but to send out a card is so nice. Ann asked if this is rewarding in any way? 1. good feeling for LC - nice to be nice and thoughtful 2. good feeling for mom - everyone loves to be thought of and remembered 3. this would most probably lead to that mom calling you again with the next kid. 4. and if she doesn't have any more, then she would probably refer on... Guest guest
Me again! I thought Id let you know how the Christmas card campaign went! I ordered the cards from vistaprint in the end ( alas no bf images..) . It took me 5 hours to write them so I was really wondering was it worth it. The repsonse from my clients was amazing. They were delighted and I got lots of lovely cards back with pictures of big smiling bf babies and most said wheather they were still feeding or when they stopped which is great info to have. I was suprised that some were still feeding at six months + (just shows you - you necer know!) Because I dont have an office - all my work is by homevisit -the clients would not have an address for me so the return address label on the cards was very handy and gave them the opportunity to reply. I had not planned that -I got the return labels free with a vistaprint offer. Im delighted I made the effort and will definitely keep it up. I even got 2 presents sent to me too! I am a bit embarrassed about that as it really never occured to me that anyone would send me a gift. Thanks for all your input and replies. Nicola > > Hi > Totally new topic here!
