Rhonda,

Tell me what you had to do to get rid of it? We just built a new

house and there is a big fancy new one installed over my

stove....admittedly it's there, so I use it. It's sooo

convenient.... Pleeeeeeeease give me a good argument that I can use

on the rest of the family...they think they'll move backward into the

15th century if they don't have adn use it. The real justification

is that there are too many starving boys around here who want instant

gratification meals (adult and otherwise)... lol!

Wren P.S. That recipe makes about 2 parfait glasses of mousse. More

than enough for one, but I can't imagine not making a full tummy's

worth! =))))

Wren, Just remember you asked ;o)

Mine wasn't built in so that helped. I actually sold it at our yard

sale (only got $10 for it as they are abundant at yard sales). If

you truly want motivation to stop using it just read the link below:

http://apricotsfromgod.info/microwaves.htm

I got that link from one of the yahoo groups I'm on - may have been

this one? I save everything I think I'll want to refer back to

later, but forget who posted it. Immediately after reading it I

stopped using the microwave for about 2 weeks until our yard sale. By

then I was more than ready to have it gone and have more counter

space. I emailed the article to my Mom who had to think about it for

a few weeks while still using hers. I noticed last week Mom's

counter in now microwaveless (at least for now-a small part of her

motivation was to reclaim more counterspace).

Below is a summary (a teaser if you will) of the article, which is

long, but it should convince you. If only half of this is true...

Ten Reasons to Throw out your Microwave Oven

From the conclusions of the Swiss, Russian and German scientific

clinical studies, we can no longer ignore the microwave oven sitting

in our kitchens. Based on this research, we will conclude this

article with the following:

1). Continually eating food processed from a microwave oven causes

long term - permanent - brain damage by " shorting out " electrical

impulses in the brain [de-polarizing or de-magnetizing the brain

tissue].

2). The human body cannot metabolize [break down] the unknown by-

products created in microwaved food.

3). Male and female hormone production is shut down and/or altered by

continually eating microwaved foods.

4). The effects of microwaved food by-products are residual [long

term, permanent] within the human body.

5). Minerals, vitamins, and nutrients of all microwaved food is

reduced or altered so that the human body gets little or no benefit,

or the human body absorbs altered compounds that cannot be broken

down.

6). The minerals in vegetables are altered into cancerous free

radicals when cooked in microwave ovens.

7). Microwaved foods cause stomach and intestinal cancerous growths

[tumors]. This may explain the rapidly increased rate of colon cancer

in America.

8). The prolonged eating of microwaved foods causes cancerous cells to

increase in human blood.

9). Continual ingestion of microwaved food causes immune system

deficiencies through lymph gland and blood serum alterations.

10). Eating microwaved food causes loss of memory, concentration,

emotional instability, and a decrease of intelligence.

Have you tossed out your microwave oven yet?

Please read the rest of the article - it'll take about 10 minutes or

so, but it is the most compelling thing I've ever read on the dangers

of microwaving. What I felt after reading the article was how I felt

after reading " The Untold Story of Milk " - and that is that we've

been lied to and we've come to believe what *they've* programmed us

to believe.

Now if someone out there has the very, very most convincing reason

why I should toss out my teflon...(I've seen the expose' on TV, I

just don't have the money for new skillets yet.)

It was me, Rhonda, that posted it originally. I am a huge fan of that

site. I don't use the microwave either. The apricot info and

testimonials on that site are amazing as well. I personally

recommended the seeds to a friend, and her terminal tumors disappeared

and have not returned. She was not going to live before she started

taking the seeds. It was dramatic.

Thank you for the reminder, and mainly thank you for article. At

work I sit within viewing distance from the break room at work and

see people of all ages all sizes buy from the vending machines or

bring their own food in and zap it in the microwave. Isn't it funny

how we've even been fond of saying that we are going to *nuke* the

food. I think people instinctively know it's bad but do it anyway

out of convenience. And several of the gals have diabetes and bring

their own home cooked cabbage rolls or stew, which was probably very

nutritious, then zap it in the microwave. And the call center

director was so pleased that they were able to put 3 microwaves in

the new break room! I've not been bold enough to spread the news

about the microwave, coconut oil, or raw milk. Think I'll break

outta my *let's-not-rock-the-boat shell* and start speaking up at

work. I've also lost 16 lbs since the 1st of Feb, so all this

wonderful healthy saturated fat will be a testamony all on it's own.

I haven't looked over the rest of that website. Now you've got my

curiousity going.

Microwaved food is plain gross. Looks gross, tastes gross. That's what

got me to hardly ever use mine, the sensual factor PLUS I think they

are another of those horrid, useless inventions that we don't need and

that we become dependent on and someone makes money off of and then we

get sick and then the medical industrial makes money off of us and then

.. . .

AMY

--who is really enjoying the dessert recipes and made a lovely peach

cobbler with sweet cream cheese last night that she plans on eating a

bite of very soon to top off her eggs and cream breakfast.
