Kathy,

I talked to my sister about it, and she seems to have a very mild annoyance--she

is bothered, but its doesn't make her crazy. She said she used to get annoyed

with kids' sniffing in the classroom, so we have that in common, but the degree

of her annoyance is less than mine--so I'm happy for her. She's a lot younger

than me, and we only lived together for a few years when she was a baby and

toddler, so it's not surprising that we didn't know about each others' noise

issues. I stopped complaining to my family a looong time ago when I saw it

didn't do any good. I was one of those suffering in silence types you

mentioned. It's definitely better that your daughter has an understanding

shoulder to cry on!
