Guest guest
Hugs - tomorrow is a new day, we all have days where we make poor choices. Just eat clean the next few days and you'll be back to normal.I love dinner theaters! Have a great time! As I gobbled the goodies at our church meeting last night, I felt my " new " self watching in horror. It's truly amazing how the bad old habits can pop up and take over. Knowing that the hostess is a professional baker and all around great cook didn't make things easier. And it wasn't like there were no healthy smacks to choose from -- one of our members is a Type 1 diabetic (who maintains it well) so there are always sugar-free/low sugar snacks there, too. I just chose to make bad choices! Things will also be poor tonight, too, as DH and I are going out to a dinner theater. It's a new venue, and I hope it's not a smorgasbord style. Feeling fat... Guest guest
I dunno, when a professional baker is baking stuff for me to eat for free I'm not too likely to turn my nose up at it! I would probably still use portion control but I sure wouldn't pass up the opportunity to enjoy it! You CAN enjoy good stuff without it being "bad" for you, it is a matter of learning to balance it. Did your new self eat as much as the old self would have? Probably not. If not, then celebrate! You did better than you would have before! If not, then it was an experience that is now over so quit beating yourself up and move on. You are aware of what you are doing, whereas before you either weren't or ignored it so you ARE making progress, even if feels like 1 step forward, 2 steps back sometimes. Enjoy the dinner theater (really)!! Hugs, Old habits pop back up quickly As I gobbled the goodies at our church meeting last night, I felt my "new" self watching in horror. Guest guest
yes!! that is what WW taught me!! Last night at hockey game I tried to order grilled chicken sandwich but it was going to take 15 min (ok that is forever in hockey game!) so they gave me chicken tenders basket instead. I ate the 3 tenders and threw out fries!! I would never do that in past.. but I am not a big fry person.. ok I did drink beer..judyTo: exercisevideos Sent: Fri, March 4, 2011 3:31:30 PMSubject: Re: Old habits pop back up quickly I dunno, when a professional baker is baking stuff for me to eat for free I'm not too likely to turn my nose up at it! Guest guest
Good for you, Judy! And nothin' wrong with enjoying a beer too, especially if you gave up something high in points that you don't love (fries) to trade for something you do (beer). It is about moderation but more importantly, it is also choices and making the ones that work for YOU. Guest guest
, why can't I clone you and have you with me wherever I go to remind me of all this stuff? Moderation is so HARD for me!-The Extremist   Good for you, Judy!  And nothin' wrong with enjoying a beer too, especially if you gave up something high in points that you don't love (fries) to trade for something you do (beer). Guest guest
LOL! You are so sweet, , thank you! The really funny thing is that some of my members have asked me that too!! I've been thinking about making small pictures of myself and putting them on popsicle sticks so people can have me with them, helping them out wherever they go. If I could, I'd include a recording that says something like, "Are you sure you want that? Really? Okay..." I keep saying I'm going to do it but haven't yet, I really should now that I'm less stressed and actually could take the time to do it. (My boss wants us to come up with gimmicks to keep members coming back, I hate relying on gimmicks and games but sometimes they do help so I might do this soon.)
