Mandi, Yes definitely something to celebrate, thanks. You know, too often we get caught up in the now. We easily forget what progress our children have made because we are with them every minute of the day. I have to go back periodically for motivation and read my daily diary just so I remember just how far he's come. xHi Isobel,The two experiences sound quite similar. Did you start the neuro protek before the ketotifen drops? Is that how you noticed the hyperactivity? Just wondering as I have been looking at the neuro protek but some others have also said they've had increased hyperactivity. I don't know if it would be just a phase in the beginning and I suppose the only way is to try it but we definitely don't need any more hyperactivity around here. If you wouldn't mind, could you keep me posted on how it goes with the hyperactivity and if it subsides? Thanks, xTo: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Sent: Wednesday, June 29, 2011 10:53 AMSubject: Re: Mast cell histamine release enhanced by phosph/serine

hello

we had a massive fever with ketotoifen lasted 3 days he was constipated, not autistic at all during the fever and dehydrated, he came down off the fever yesterday morning woke up at 11am [late] and just like you we had more focus, carrying portable dvd in from roof garden and rushing around with a bit of hyper activity, and it was as if nothing had happenned he was his normal self again, but as far as I can see, although the fever was worrying at 1 in the morning this was a really good sign. The hyper activity is from the neuro protek I think, but we are just going to keep going. we are doing 1mg tabs of ketotifen, and 2 neuroproteks daily, he is 21 kg aged 8.

Hi Isobel,Thanks for the link to the neuro protek site. I had a read of it when (I think) posted it last week.We are already giving 5HTP and LTheanine an hour before bed so I really don't want to push it. He's about to start a new school too so I don't want him bouncing of the walls straight away. But we'll see, the only way is to try it.It was interesting what you said about allergies and liver life. We use to use 10 drops 2 x daily but am now giving only 5 drops. Perhaps that's too low and I should increase again.OK Isobel, keep us posted on the hyperactivity :-) xTo: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Sent: Wednesday, June 29, 2011 4:09 PMSubject: Re: Mast cell histamine release enhanced by phosph/serine

Hi i started the neuroprotek the week before the TA conference but had to stop for that weekend for obvious reasons, I think this causes slight hyper activity, i gave inosotol and 5htp and he calmed down, he is generally not hyper at all, so for us it was easy, you could maybe only give a dose neuroprotek at night this might help or in the am only and school could deal with it and give inosotol 5htp at same time, just a suggestion, i thought he was dying during the fever but he came out the other side today is his first day back at school, all I know is its definately working and zach has some allergies, which halved with liverlife but he still has a lower allergy level now [insensitivity]. there is a video from dr theorides i'll find it later and post it it talks about doasges side effects etc and ingredients... I don't know if it's related but our son went totally off the rails on the weekend (I freaked) and then a 39 degree fever hit hard. Then after less then 12 hours of  fever and lethargy,he had a good long sleep and then woke up as if nothing had happened and ate like a horse. He's been more focused doing loads of puzzles and his awareness is right up there, he knows exactly what is going on and can do what ever he wants to do only as usual I see the frustration when he can't have something or can't talk and express himself. Then it's all hell to pay, there's no change there, BUT after giving me a hard time for something yesterday he did sit down on the table, look me straight in the eye and say sorry!ÂÂ
