I've tried a number of different methods of incorporating the kombucha into the soap. At this time I'm using both the kt and ground up culture. I also infuse the culture with different herbs and teas like ginger, rose petals, lavender flowers or Earl Grey tea. I've found the soaps to have a very nice soothing effect. I'm sure most of the pro-biotic properties don't make it through the saponification process – if any at all. I'm sending samples to the Kombucha Research center for testing - it'll be interesting to see what remains. And, with that report in hand, I'll be able to be more specific about its properties. Even without that I've been selling the heck out of them at my local weekly arts and crafts fair and some of my customers say the soap has improved their skin issues like eczema. And, my friend is selling them on her website.
