Guest guest
Hi to the list from Australia. I have been lurking for a little while and would like to send some questions out to the group. I am 32 and have had ms officially for about 4 years. I was very interested to read about the proposed headache link to ms a few days ago as I started to get headaches - which I assumed were migraines, complete with nausea and tiredness - about two years prior to my first definite ms symptom (my right eye, fully recovered). My naturopath has had me on Ca 2AEP for some time, I also take supplements and copaxone. Anyway, I am interested in suggestions about mercury, detox etc. I went to see a Complimentary Medicine GP about a year ago. As soon as I said I had ms he said I would be very toxic, full of metals and allergies, etc etc. He snipped off some of my hair and sent it to the US for analysis, and then had me take a 'Super Vega' test (a machine that registers the change in your electrical impulses - I think - when exposed to metals / foods etc). This lasted over 90 minutes and the end result was that I had no allergies but a very strong reaction to the Epstein Barr Virus test (I had glandualr fever, my only other illness, when I was 16). The Hair test also came back negative, no excess mercury (in fact below what is usual) or any metals. The Dr then cancelled my next two appointments and his secretary didn't suggest a third so I haven't been back. What do people make of these results? I am trying the ms diet, what other suggestions do people have? And any other people from Australia? Thank you for reading this far, and please feel free to email me off list. Good Health to you all in 2001.
Guest guest
, I sure don't have much to offer about the tests you took, because I've never been tested for metal levels. I heard somewhere that the hair analysis tests weren't very reliable, and since insurance wouldn't pay for those kinds of tests, I just skipped the whole thing. I have heard there are more reliable tests now, but I still doubt my insurance would pay for them. I'm just doing the best I can with diet and supplements, attitude etc. I have been having pretty good results this way, so will leave it at that for the time being anyway.
