They have some yummy shrimp, frozen but good. 1 lb bags $7.99 buy one get 2 free. I bought as much as I could....LOL. We had Scampi....0 carbs for supper. Just cooked them in garlic and butter. No veggies. There is salad in the fridge if anyone needs it. The kids seem ok with it, but pigged out at my grandmothers after the funeral. They ate fried chicken like poor malnurished kids, and ate 2 pieces of cake despite my griping. The funeral home did do a good thing, sent a meat and cheese tray, which I utilized to the max, and a few deviled eggs made for a good lunch. I didn't eat breakfast because after my first meal(or drink), the cramping and diarrhea start. I made the mistake and drank a bottle of water and had to leave the viewing 30 min. early or not be able to attend the funeral. After about 25 minutes, I was ok, and we went to the gravesite just in time to be there for the graveside services. I hate funerals. I don't want one, don't want viewing, just a few minutes at graveside is fine with me. To me a funeral is a waste of time, money and painful for the family, who usually are tired and exausted from the illness or stress of losing a family member. I have considered cremation, but don't really know how I feel about that. Sorry to get off on a different subject, but this is bugging me tonight for some reason. I guess funerals do that to me. I totally agree that having a hubby on Atkins helps immensely. I told Tom I'd make some deviled eggs tonight to snack on.....LOL. in Bama http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/myhomepage/profile.html Surgery-12/6 -377.5 2/17 - 346.5 ( minus 31lbs) 01/15- 338.1 (minus 39.1lbs) 02/08-332.9 (minus 44.6 lbs)

I wonder what went through his mind when Dr. K walked in and you were there? How much giggling was there? I was hoping you would do an instant replay...A little late! I may not have remembered to tell about her death. So much has happened the last 3 days. They put on Inderal for migraines, but the neuro guy says he is worried because they come on suddenly and stop suddenly. All tests so far are negative. We had to take to and ortho guy because her knee Sunday night was huge again. I called her peds doc and asked for a referral to a doc not around here. He sent us to St s to a peds ortho doc....a younger woman...very nice. is having arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday to fix some torn stuff in her knee(don't you love my technical terms?) and release a ligament that pulls the kneecap and make an incision in I think the bursa? to allow the knee cap to go back into place. We had to go all the way to Birmingham by 3 pm then got stuck in rush hour traffic on the way home. I forgot to order a flower stand from us, I have ran ragged these last few days, and to top it off I'm still coughing so bad I gag at times from this danged flu. I am less hoarse, but I am still weak. I had to sit on a stool to cook supper. Hope tomorrow is quiet! in Bama http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/myhomepage/profile.html Surgery-12/6 -377.5 2/17 - 346.5 ( minus 31lbs) 01/15- 338.1 (minus 39.1lbs) 02/08-332.9 (minus 44.6 lbs)
Guest guest
, I'm so sorry about your granny; I guess I missed the post in which you mentioned her death. My grandparents have been dead for decades and I still miss them. Same for my parents -- My dad's been dead 19 years, and my mom 9 years. Tell Thom congrat's on the weight loss. You two would have had a great time at the meeting. There was a TON of laughing, and I believe Dr. K said the total weight loss in the room tonight was over 4,000 pounds. That is a HELL of a lot of weight! I agree about the cremation deal. I'm going to be burned as soon as the law allows after death. I've done TOO many funerals and have seen too much money put in a hole in the ground. It's a great racket. OK. I am back from my walk (10.46 p.m.) after I got home from the Delano meeting. So I'm dang tired. But Mel, I had a great time meeting all those gossipy chicks! You should have heard the " OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHs " when I introduced myself. Dr. K's comment was, " I wasn't there. Guest guest
Hi, Mel, No, I didn't weigh although at least a dozen people told me to. Dr. K told me to buy a scale and in a week weigh myself and e-mail him. He said we would use that as the benchmark for further weight loss. I was tempted to weigh, but I doubt I lost much, if anything between Friday and today. The group really is a great group of people. And all the " wannabees " who were there. One poor man was in a wheel chair and he was so large, Mel. I felt so sorry for him. I know how difficult life is when one is MO -- My heart really went out to him. I did find a surgery sibling, though. Kathy (?) had her surgery 5 December 2001. We are a year apart. It was really funny, rather, she was really funny. When she asked my surgery date and I told her, she just said, " get out of here! " LOL I feel for ! I've had migraines all my life--they run in my dad's family. I had them so bad I'd be in bed, in a dark room, with a fan blowing over my head, for days. I'll remember him and in my prayers. I am finding that as my exercise (walking) increases, I have less fatigue. I don't know what the relationship is between the two, but I'm glad to finally have some energy! And, there is NOTHING wrong with sitting down to cook. Years ago I pulled a stool into the kitchen and sat on it to do the cooking. My mom came in and said, " that's the smartest thing I've ever seen you do. " SO much for my education! LOL Jim Re: Mel from Bama

I hate to go to sleep, because I know despite all my nose spray, sudafed and stuff, that I will wake up sick, unable to breathe and my throat sore again. My head hurts and I am sooo tired. This has gone on for almost 2 weeks in varrying intensities, and they are saying don't go to the doc unless it is bad because it spreads it, and there isn't much they can do. They closed a bunch of schools locally because there was 25-50% absentee rate. I found a scale on drugstore. com that is a healthometer or something like that. I ordered it, and it goes up to 400. Although I don't need that much now, the only ones I found locally went up to 330. And the doc told me they weren't accurate at the upper end. So I should be fine with this one. AND I won't have to pay a quarter at K mart....Only drawback is when Eddie comes to take my scale, It will be at my house and not Kmart ....LOL. Guest guest
Woman, I am praying that you blow that estimate all to hell and show em the way a revision CAN lose and LOSE and LOSE! Hell, Mel, at 252 I was round as a tub and I STILl got naked in the hot tub with friends! I guess I am just an exhibitionist at heart, PLUS we have some VERY accepting freiends who never judge by race, body size, or looks! I had rolls on my back, hip, tummy, and my butt was half a wide as the hot tub, but it never stopped me! LOL, I have mets LOTS of Marines, Sailors, and Cops and Firefdighters too, (OK, I had a ball dating!) who LOVE larger women! Cindee (wondering if she can ship a Marine to Mel without Tom noticing....) > Alll protein is definately the way to go if I'm gonna blow Dr. K's > estimate of 270 out of the water!! > > in Bama > http > ://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/myhomepage/profile.html > Surgery-12/6 -377.5 > 2/17 - 346.5 ( minus 31lbs) > 01/15- 338.1 (minus 39.1lbs) > 02/12-330.0 (minus 47.5 lbs) > >
Guest guest
LOL, so far everything I have asked them to do they have done with a " Yes, Maam! " and a smile! Ray and I brought two Marines home with us one evening for a barbeque and a few beers, they were homesick and missed their families so it was a lot of fun having them around. PLUS they wanted to make some extra bucks so they offered to rip out our old wood deck around our spa! Beer, steak, and cash, and everyone was happy! Now I have to get around to finding a few Marines (or firefighters - got a couple of them volunteering to help out) to build the frame and fill it woth river rock and plants around the hot tub so we can actually enjoy it this summer! In the attic huh? I bet it would be a hell of a lot more comfortable than the barracks they are in now! Guest guest
That's what I am Sharon--- a faded liar! My drivers license said 150 for about 40 years- I still haven't hit that number yet, but before mine needs renewing in 2004, perhaps I will. I too love flowers- esp fresh, not fake- they get too dusty, and I'm not a good duster. Betsy Re: Mel from Bama > > If people sent me flowers when I was dead, I'd be up there (I hope *up* > > there? I enjoy every second of them while they are fresh and fragrant, and then dry them when they start to fade. I feel that they served their purpose, my enjoyment, for the time aloted. Kind of like us. we get older and fade a little but do serve our purpose while we are here in our aloted time. For our enjoyment, service, and for others enjoyment and then we are gone...but there is a trace of us that still lingers on. Like the fragrance of the cut flower when it is dried...
