Is Valtrex an Rx?

Hi everyone,

I am fairly new to this group. I

have been a member of chelatingkids2 for about a year, but just recently

started getting more involved on antiviral research. My son is 4 years of

age. We have been on the DAN! protocol since February 2005. He had

a negative reaction to the M-B12 shots (regression, hyperactivity, lots of stimming,

aggression, etc.), so I stopped it after 3 months. Then, about 6 months

later, I heard about the M-B12 nasal spray and asked our DAN! to prescribe

it. The first day it was great. My son started asking us the question

“what are you doing”, and depending on our answer, he wanted to imitate

us. That was really great. 3 days later, he regressed so much, even

lost some of his language, that his ABA program had to be stopped for a few days because he was aggressive

and impossible to control.

That was 6 weeks ago. Since, I have

been doing a great deal of research to find out why my son cannot tolerate

methyl b12 like the majority of the kids do. I have been doing a great

deal of reading on Dr. Yasko’s protocol and I ordered the genetic test

that she does to see if the problem is that he is an overmethylator. But

I want to know where in the pathway things are dramatically worse. I sent

in the test last week and I won’t hear back for 2 months or so. In

the meantime, I have been reading a great deal about what the Measle’s virus

can do to the body and I would like to introduce an antiviral.

He has been on TD-DMPS Buttar’s

protocol for 6 months. As of December, his DDI stool metal test indicated

that he is pulling just Antimony (red), Nickel (yellow) and Uranium (yellow).

His DAN! told me that the next one will be done in May. But I think he is

pulling more metals because his language is getting better. He is on 15

supplements and TD-Glutathione. I started Phosphaline tonight. I am

not sure what to expect of this supplement.

I would like to give Valtrex a try. Do

I need a prescription for this? If not, where can I buy it? How do

I know how much to start with?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
