This looks like a great group and really interesting. My name is and I am from Australia. I am 45 (eek!) and have only got into exercise dvd's in the last year but I LOVE them!!! I lost about 8kg (about 17 and a half pounds for you guys) in the first 6 months of getting into exercise and now I have maintained it since. My favourite instructor (at the moment) is Cathe Friedrich. She is so professional and I love her strength workouts especially. I am not into the step stuff much. I can never remember the move's. I am now into the more advances sort of workouts. I never feel I have really worked out unless I get close to an hour in every morning. I also do 40 mins on my stationary bike 4 or 5 times a week and a fast walk for an hour 5 days a week. ( up and down hills) My favourite DVD (this week. HAHA!) is Cathe's 'High Reps'. Thats a new one for me and I love feeling sore afterwards. Another one close to that is Gym style legs but I love Slow and heavy too. Geez I love all of them. lol! Anyway, I hope to get to know you all and have some fun. My Saturday workout was Cathe's Musclemax. Still a little sore in my arms from that one today (Its Sunday early evening here) Its great though. Its a little over one hour. Todays workout was Dozois Peak 10 cardio. She is a great instructor. This was my easy day but I was still sweating away. My fave Dozois cardio is Peak 10 Strength. Love it...... cardio and some strength together and I really feel worked out later. (around an hour) Thanks for reading:) Am I the oldest here? Hope not! I want to be inspired.
Guest guest
Welcome !!! I'm also a huge fan of Cathe's. She is, by far, my favorite instructor as well. I love her step too, although a couple of Amy Bento and Seasun Zieger's are more fun to me  Cathe's still my favorite. I'm Darcy, 35, married with three boys and currently 19 weeks pregnant with our fourth and final. I also like to exercise at least an hour a day, 7 days a week when not pregnant, with my 7th being a short day and lighter. Now that I'm pregnant, I've been faithfully getting 5 - 6 days in, and anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes. I'm happy with that. My diet is horrible when I'm pregnant though, and I gain too much! I can't imagine what I would be like if I weren't working out to stave off some of those calories! Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you!Darcy  Hi everyone, I am new here today. This looks like a great group and really interesting. My name is and I am from Australia. Guest guest
I forgot to add that I have been working out to videos since the year 2000. I'm hooked, and have hundreds..if not tipping into the four digits. I'm a SAHM, but I do personal training outside of my home, only part-time though. I don't advertise. Currently, I have only one client, and I'm loving being this slow D Welcome !!! Guest guest
Hi, ! No, you're not the oldest! I'm 52, thinking I'm going on 25 again... It gets me into injury troubles sometimes. Home workouts are probably best for me, because then I won't feel the need to keep going when I shouldn't, just to keep the others from knowing I'm weak... I've only been at this about 6 months, when I finally decided that treadmill walking wasn't challenging and was boring me to death. I've lost about 20 pounds. I think Chalene is my favorite instructor, although I also strongly like Cathe Freidrich and Kathy , too. And I'm still checking out other instructors! Or city library has a wonderful selection of DVDs to check out! The group here is WONDERFUL! Encouraging, informational, inspiring, and everything you need from a support group! We all seem to be making progress and keeping healthy and fit, even if we backslide sometimes. Guest guest
Hi ! Welcome to the group!! I'm from Michigan and I just turned 44 in January. The other day my DH was filling out insurance forms at work and the person looking them over (who is around 47 herself) pronounced me "a puppy" when she saw my birthdate. That worked just great for me!! You can be a puppy with me! Your weight loss and especially maintenance is great!! I have almost too many favorite instructors but I love Cathe's weight workouts too, most of her step routines are way too complicated for me though. I'm choreographically-impaired and prefer boot camp style workouts with straight athletic drills. I do some simpler choreography though and I'm a huge FIRM fan. I've done a few 3 month rotations with them and am contemplating another because their workouts give me such fantastic results. I also love Tony Horton (from P90X among other workouts) and I've really gotten into kickboxing workouts thanks to this group (everything I've done is thanks to this group though, including acquiring a huge collection of workout videos and equipment). I haven't done Dozois' Peak 10 workouts yet but I really like a lot. Sansone got me started with exercise videos and with working out regularly for the first time in years (that was over 4 years ago now, wow, I hadn't even realized that until now)! I still love for no-brainer and lighter days. Lately, I've been trying to do workouts I've had in my collection that I've never done. It helps me clear shelf space when I find I don't like one I thought I would and also gives me more options when I find one I do like (and eases guilt as I contemplate buying the new Supreme 90 collection). In my professional life I'm a Weight Watchers meetings leader. I lost 25 pounds on the program (this time around, been throug it too many times to count before) but I've kept it off now for about 4 1/2 years. I've been working for WW for 4 years now, most of them as a leader. I currently lead 13 meetings per week most weeks. I was shopping today and ran into several people I knew from WW. One woman said, "Hi! You're the WW lady, right?" Yep, that's me. I'm married to an awesome guy and have two amazing kids (a girl who is 9 going on 35 and a boy who is almost 13 and definitely acts like a boy going on 13 but he's starting to look like an older teen which is very weird). I'm also known as "Miriam's mom" or "'s mom" at their schools, where I volunteer frequently. I also volunteer through our church and otherwise do waaaaay too much most of the time. My workouts are often 20-30 minutes because of my schedule but at least once or twice a week I try to fit in an hour or more. My step-mother gave me a coffee mug recently that says "Stop me if I volunteer for anything again!" I also write realllllly long posts sometimes and always appreciate replies so much because it means someone actually read them besides me!! :-) Welcome again, I look forward to reading about your awesome workouts! Guest guest
I've been on here a while and didn't know this much about most of you. I loved hearing about all of your backgrounds, family/jobs, etc....I am 37 years old and a mom of 2. I am a school counselor full-time, and I teach Turbo Kick at our YMCA and to a small group of people at a school through a contract 4 nights a week. On the days that I am not teaching, I do ChaLEAN Extreme with a few others on this site, and any other dvd I happen to have. I am down to my last 2 weeks of CLX (ChaLEAN Extreme) and will start RevAbs after I finish CLX. I LOVE buying workout DVD;s and trying them out! :)My favorite instructor is definitely Chalene because I am a huge Turbo freak!!! LOL I lost a ton of inches and some weight by doing Turbo Kick at our local gym (and Turbo Jam at home). Nice to have you as a part of this group and look forward to hearing about what workouts you are doing! Guest guest
Thats so cool that you are exercising right through your pregnancy. I have 3 kids... 17, 15 and 10. Two girls and the youngest is a boy. I walked all through my pregnancies but did no cardio. I LOVE to eat so I NEED to exercise. And doing lots of exercise makes me even hungrier. Nice to meet you all cheers, Welcome !!! Guest guest
Thanks for all the incredible replies. Everyone seems really nice. I am the only one I know that works out. I cant talk my hubby into joining me. He keeps promising me and then piking out. Nice to meet some people that get the obsession. lol! We all seem to be making progress and keeping healthy and fit, even if we backslide sometimes.Welcome to the group! Guest guest
Keeping that weight off for so long is fanttastic!!!! My weight has always gone up and down, though I have never been truly overweight. I am thinner and fitter looking now than I have ever been. I used to hate that I had big shoulders and always wanted to make myself smaller so I got badly into bulimia for years and then after that I just relaxed around food and tried to lose the obsession. Now I think I can get back to exercising for enjoyment and fitness and I love my shoulders now. They are ripped and strong looking. I love looking at the musles in my arms and legs. My legs are getting so muscly. I LOVE it! No more trying to make myself lesser!!!...... and yet I AM lesser..... but stronger too!! Looks like you all are doing the supreme 90 workout here. I had never heard of it before. Hi ! Welcome to the group!! I'm from Michigan and I just turned 44 in January. Guest guest
That is since September 1 of 2009, I went to a low fat vegetarian diet and started exercising regularly. It is very hard, but I was having a lot of health problems which are all better now with the weight loss. Guest guest
, I didn't like it at all at first. I used to call the treadmill, " the dreadmill. " I'm still not thrilled about needing to do it every day, but I sure am thrilled at the changes my body has made -- all for the better! I also still haven't found my " love " in this, yet. But speaking of which -- it's time for my workout -- it's already gotten much later than I thought!
