Any problem with " of reflex origin " ? I.e. copious watering caused by a

reflex action rather than the disorder itself?

The cornea is innervated by a sensitive branch of the trigeminal nerve (V).

In normal conditions, a stimulation of the cornea (e.a. by the wind or the

dust) induces several responses: lacrymation, blinking,... It can be

considered as a complex reflex response. So, any pathological stimulation of

the cornea (foreign body, distichiasis or superficial ulceration can also

induce a hyperlacrymation.

" of reflex origin " is OK, but you might want to use " tearing " instead of

" watering "
