Our son also did better when, on a whim, I cut out most of his enzymes. He had

been yelling uncharacteristically and it stopped cold. In his case, I have

horrible images of how acidic the enzymes might have been for him. Who

knows,though? I'll watch with interest to see how it goes for you.

Off probiotics and enzymes and ... better?

Hi Everyone

I feel like this is a whacky question but here goes: has been

off his enzymes and probiotics (Culturelle and Probiogold) for one

week to collect a stool sample. My husband and I noticed a great

increase in interaction and understandable verbal communication (he

has Apraxia and receives 1:1 ST 3 x a week).

Any insights? I'm afraid to restart these supplements! And afraid

not to!

A few months ago when my son was very ill with rotavirus I stopped all

supplements because he couldn't eat or drink anything at the time. Since then,

he has had dramatic results. More understandable speech, self control and

happiness. I don't know what to attribute that too. I was lost. I'm still

lost as to why this is happening. We did however begin CLO again last week.

Anyone with any ideas as to why, I would love to hear it.

Most plant enzymes are grown on Aspergillus. Our kids get allergic to this

fungus really fast.

I also had better results whenIi ran out out HNI enzmes. My son was

urinating so much on them. I ran out and the excessive urination

stopped. As far as probiotics go, my son can not tolerate anything

with bifido (sp?). It makes him nuts and it is not die off because he

gets violent and grabs at my neck something he would never do normally.

It took me a few months last year to isolate the cause of his violent

tempers last year. Now we avoid anything with bifido

We went through the same thing about a year ago. Our son went off most

of his supplements for testing and got better. We didn't restart them

again and found that he started getting worse after about a month.

Then we had to start all over, one at a time again so we didn't shock

his poor little system. For what it's worth....
