Guest guest
Carl, My AFOS are heavy too along with my shoes...I can hardly lift my feet. What are these new AFOs you are talking about? Geri
Guest guest
Carl, I have had several pairs of kevlar/graphite AFOs and like them a lot. They are lighter, thinner, and stronger. They are so much better than the older forms of plastic AFOs. Ask them to cut them out some in the back too. Mine are and it sure helps with the heat and sweating issues. I think you will like your new AFOs. Bob
Guest guest
Hello Carl, I have a new set of carbon laminate AFOs from -Fillipis through Dr. Shy's clinic in Detroit. They are significantly heavier than the single piece thermoplastic one that I've been using for several years. They are also very very stiff an have some pressure point issues still. They do have adjustable pivots at the ankle. I can forward a picture for comparison if you want to. EdM from NH
Guest guest
Geri, These bi-lateral AFOs are made by Otto Bock Health Care. The brochure says it's the feather-weight Walk-On Ankle Foot Orthosis(AFO). Says it's made of an advanced carbon composite. I'm getting mine at Hanger Orthotics (they're ordering them). The website is ottobockus.com. Check into them...hope they're work for you. I should get them next Friday. I'll do a review after I tried them for a couple of weeks. Good luck.
