Is he metabolizing the EFA's properly? Our daughter has that problem. We are

giving her biotin and pantethine just a few minutes before the EFA's. It's

working o.k. so far.

My son is taking Brainchild SSII and thereby gets 300mcg Biotin and

100mg Pantethine thoughout the day. I now that these supplements

require very individualistic dosages but I would be interested in how

much your daughter takes - and, do you give them at separate times?

I give her 5000mcg Biotin and 250mg Pantethine along with her other vitamins

in the morning. I'm going to increase the Pantethine to twice daily. She

weighs 72 pounds and is almost 10. We found through a DNA genetics test that

she can only partially metabolize one of the EFA's - arachinoid acid(I

think - spelling). It's metabolized through the liver using the 2C9 enzyme

which our daughter's 2C9 is only partially opened meaning she can not

metabolize and it builds up. We are still in the process of finding out so

many things since the DNA test. I'm wondering if other acids are not being

used at all or if some are building up. I'm also wondering if copper and

other heavy metals are metabolized the same way. We are seeing a metabolic

geneticist in 3 weeks. I have so many questions - I just don't know if he'll

know the answers. so far, the test has told us what's wrong - but the

doctors can't seem to tell us what to do about it.

Lynette,

I'll be gone for a few days for the Fourth. I'll check the e-mails when I

get back.
