Guest guest
Vit A dosing depends on your child's history and testing results; we only want the mega-dosing for those who we highly suspect may have persistent measles virus in their guts. These kids have two issues; one, their guts are enflamed so they're not absorbing much, including their Vit A, and the other is that measles virus " uses up " the A, so we do not have a problem with toxicity issues. Please read my article Clarification of Vit A Mega-Dosing Protocol on my website under articles: www.starvingbrains.com. If your child fulfills the suggested indications for the probability of measles, you may want to do the mega-dose. If not, only do the maintenance dose, 1 drop a day (or up to 3-4 drops maintenance following the mega-dose if they are a " measles gut " kid based on size, age) in addition to whatever they get in their CLO, not to exceed 25,000 iu per day. The mega-dose should only be administered once every six months to avoid toxicity issues. Guest guest
Libby: It depends upon whether your child fits the criteria for " probable " gut measles; these are the only ones who should get the mega-dose. Otherwise, the daily maintenance dose only (usually 1-3 drops daily in addition to your CLO). Please go to my web-site www.starvingbrains.com and read under Articles - Clarification of Vitamin A Mega-Dose Protocol. Dr. JM Micelle A study question I just received my bottle of Micelle A but I am confused as to which protocol to do. Do I give the 2-day high dose, month-long low dose or both? Thank you! Guest guest
Dr McCandless, For non-measles kids are you therefore recommending a regular dose of no more than 25,000iu total per day? I am currently giving Jack 5000iu 3x per day, would this be ok? With many thanks Re: Micelle A study question Vit A dosing depends on your child's history and testing results; we only want the mega-dosing for those who we highly suspect may have persistent measles virus in their guts. Guest guest
Yes, for his weight that is not a toxic dose.
