My favorite probiotic right now is a high potency multiple strain made by

Klaire Labs called Ther-biotic Complete. Call and tell them I

sent you. You'll get a 20% discount on all their products. Dr. JM-----

Dr. McCandless:

What would you suggest for clostridia for a child who doesn't tolerate a lot of

GSE

or the Lauricidin?

We've used the TherBiotic Complete as well as the Culturelle.

Thanks,

Becky

My favorite all-around probiotic is Klaire's Ther-Biotic Complete.

Maintenance is one cap a day, during antibiotics two a day (away from the

antibiotic), and following, two or three (sometimes alternating) to knock

out the spore hatching that follows the antibiotics for at least 10 days or

two weeks. A stool analysis would show whether he needs more of a specific

probiotic such as Bifidobacter. Be sure to give these in cool food, such as

pear sauce, and I always keep them refrigerated. Some potency will be lost

in opening the capsule, but they are such high potency that you will still

get more than other brands. I now always give anti-fungals along with

anti-bacterials, because when one pathogen dies out the other takes over.

Sugar of any kind is absolutely counter-productive; why give anti-pathogens

while feeding the critters their favorite food? You might try some taurine

to help get more bile into the stool. Dr. JM

Dr.McCandless,

My son has had high copper for quite some time, we have done a lot to bring it

down, loading with zinc, supp. molybdenum, manganese, etc, nothing has worked.

Recently, I took him to a G.I. at UCSF, who gave my son a 24hr urine provocation

test with D-Penecillamine. The pre- provocation sample was in normal range,

14( range was 5-30 ug/l). Post provocation result was 346 ( normal range 5-30).

The G.I now wants to do a Head MRI to check for any heavy metal deposits in the

brain, and also a Skeletal survey to check for metal build up. I would really

appreciate if you could kindly give us your input on this. Have you heard of

this kind of testing being done to check for metal deposits, is it worth the

effort and money or not??? also I'm concerned about the amount of radiation my

son would have to be exposed to for the skeletal survey. Since we'll have to

pick up some of the cost associated with these tests, I'm really seeking all the

professional help I can get. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Sara
