Hi everyone and a Happy New Year to you all.

I am attaching an e-mail I have sent out to those members who have previously shown an interest in attending the proposed mds convention next year.

If anyone else wants to put their name down for attendance at the convention, could they please send me an e-mail with replies to the questions I have asked, together with an idea of whereabouts they live.

Thanks.

MDS Convention 2003

Hi everyone and a Happy New Year to you all.

I am writing to you as you have previously registered an interest in attending the MDS Convention in Orlando that we are planning for in 2003.

We are trying to firm up on things and need some information from you so that we can take some firm decisions about the convention.

(who lives in Orlando) has been researching hotels in the Orlando area (see http://www.scottedavis.com/MDSHome.htm and the favoured hotel at the moment is the Hilton Garden Inn near Seaworld @$89 US per room per night although I have personally stayed at the and can recommend it for families - probably at a lower rate as well. The dates we have for the convention are from Friday the 31st of October 2003 until Sunday the 2nd of November 2003 (ie 2 nights).

The fundraising is the big unknown at the moment and Jablonski will be running with fundraising for the group in the New Year. So just how much we can subsidise travel and accommodation from any fundraising, we just don't know yet.

Anyway I would be grateful if you let me have the following details :

a) Are you still interested in attending the MDS convention in 2003 ?

B) if so, how many rooms would you require (based on four people per room ie two double beds) ?

c) how many people will be in your party (adults and children) ?

d) how many cots/cribs would you require ?

e) would you be prepared to pay your own travel and accommodation if need be ?

f) would you be interested in attending the Disney (and other) parks as part of the group (assuming we can obtain discounts) ?

g) do any of your party have special dietary needs ?

We are still aiming to sponsor as much of the travel and accommodation as we can but we can only do our best. Now that the group can be registered as non-profit, we can move ahead now with the fundraising and we will review the situation again towards the middle of the year.

Thanks for you help. The latest chat can be seen later this week on the website once Bree has posted it.
