Guest guest Posted September 26, 2007 Report Share Posted September 26, 2007 Just remember that they don't have genes for all types of CMT, so a negative gene test doesn't mean it's not CMT. Too many negatives! The gene test doesn't eliminate CMT when it's negative. It only pinpoints the type when it's positive. My husband over the years has had three gene tests as they discover more genes, and they have all been negative, but his neurologist is sure it's CMT.
