Thanks for noting the hoax item, that's the same website we use and I'd

suggest everyone run " forwards " like that (and offers) through an urban

legend review before sending them out. Thanks again.

I'm sorry if the email was a hoax. I do not usually forward emails, and get

quite aggrivated myself by the " pass this on" type messages. But when I

read this & thought what a horrid nightmare this would be for a parent,

I knew I would not be able to sleep if I did not forward it, knowing someone

out there might know or see this cute kid. I apologize again & will try

to remember to check it out next time. I do wonder though, how they know

it is a hoax.

Hi Hope, I've been home sick and rather than watch soap operas I go

through the urban legends stuff and try to track down some of these

things (yes I'm a sick man, but I hope to get a life soon). I know

what you mean about seeing a kid like that and , as a parent and a

person, wanting to get involved in helping out -- in the case of this

kid, the email address was blocked by the sender from receiving mail and

no missing person reports have ever been filed for that name with

the national, state or local police department or missing kids

organizations. I couldn't find " dad " or anyone by that

name living in that city (or state) and the wording of the request is

almost exactly the same as one sent out under another kid's name back in

the mid to late 1990's. If something grabs at my heart I'll check

it out -- when I couldn't get a hold of " dad " and no reports

were ever filed, that seemed too strange for someone that

desperate.

I know there are lots of hoaxes, gimmics, viruses and general evil I guess

you could say on the net. Some people are just sick about the way they get

their kicks!
