Guest guest
hi everyone - lots of variety today... - first i did a 70 minute walk with chinook this morning. it was sunny with cold air coming in from the south... i had to wear my face mask for a while. that was ok... cold air from the north is much worse! one of the farmers down the road stopped me to have a discussion about wind farms and how some of our neighbours have apparently signed up to put wind turbines on their lands. oh-oh... not sure what to think about that, there seems to be a big controversy about it. - this evening i did a workout with mel b (from the spice girls). she has a set of workouts called 'totally fit'... this one was a 15 minute cardio with no warmup or cooldown (those are separate entries in the dvd menu). mel led the workout which consisted of various exercises repeated for one minute each. alot of these were sculpting type exercises, like squats and pushups, punches, various standing abs, etc. the cardio effect comes from the high number of reps and no resting between the exercises. overall, i found the workout challenging and had to modify it in places. i admire mel's physique, her ability to do all of the exercises with good form, her tough attitude and her attempts at encouragement. all of her backgrounders are attractive young people who also performed the workout perfectly. but i did not appreciate all of the yelling/screaming that mel did... ugh!! by the end she seemed pretty obnoxious to me and i was glad that the workout wasnt longer. - after that i did hip hop abs rockin body disco groove. well, actually i did about half of it (15 mins). i thought that i had put in one of the original HHA workouts and not one of the 'rockin body' set which is more advanced. obviously most of the backgrounders are pro dancers. oh well, i did what i could and had alot of fun. HHA has to be some of the most fun workouts in the world!! it still kills me that in all of the HHA workouts, there is an seated audience watching shaun t and friends perform the workout up on a stage. these people clap and cheer and do the arm portions of the workout while seated. also shaun lifted up his shirt (briefly) and the women in the audience screamed and took photos... LOLOL. too weird ! ! - after that, i did episode one of season six of classical stretch. ive done this episode before but had forgotten how fast miranda moves through the flowing part of the workout.... wheew! it was hard to keep up to her and parts of it felt like torture!! LOL. oh well, it is a good kind of torture some of her sessions are more of a workout while others are more of a stretch. it just depends on what she feels like that day, i guess... - number of steps today: 13,421 :*carolyn.
