Guest guest
Jan, My very favorite place to get most over the counter supplements because of it's lower cost, nice selection and they are knowledgeable is Super Supplements. The stores are mainly in Washington state, but many use the mail order feature. A personal note, Ricci King (wutsername) moderator of abmd and our WA group and also the TACA co-ordinator here in WA is the managers at the Renton Super Supplement store, which is the store that ships the mail order products. So if you decide to order from there ask if she's around. She tends to stock extra things for our ASD kids and is extremely knowledgeable about them. When I have a question, she's where I go. One of the biggest things (good but confusing) with Super Supplements is the large variety of choices....it overwhelmes me sometimes. There's like 10 different Aloe juices to choose from...that's where I turn to Ricci in choosing for our children. Supersup.com Make sure and check the Health Notes section doing a search on aloe as there are restrictions before using. Lily of the desert is carried at Super Supplements as well as in the Fred Meyer Health Foods section. Super Supplements carries a bigger variety. From Supersup.com click on Brands " Lily of the Desert " and you will also find good info, especially under Aloe story. Here's the Link: http://www.lilyofthedesert.com/aloe_story.html You don't use much Aloe, just 1-2 tbsp in the Recharge (Lemon Recharge is what's in my " medicine cabinet " as it doesn't stain as bad if they throw it up..I get it at Fred Meyer healthfood section as well). Only use the Aloe for a day or two as it can have a laxative affect...but it does a good job of settling an upset stomach. I was taught as soon as possible after throwing up, administer a tbsp of the mix...don't overwhelm the system..just take it slow. Like 5 min later another spoonful...over-dueing will cause herxing. An oz or two will take a 1/2 hour-1 hour to get down...they may throw-up again, administer again...it generally subsides within a short period of time. My extended family had called me with one particularly bad flu episode and had a big turn around...they swear by it now. I personally put a scoop of Ambrotose in my mix as well. Our Herbalist taught us a trick for lowering the temp very naturally as well...I'll have to search this group to see if we've posted it on this group. If not I'll copy our post from the WA group so you'll have it too.
