Guest guest
: I use only Meta-Metrix, so can't comment on GSL results. Though I'm a big tester, I still try to treat the child and not lab reports. Vitamin deficiencies have to be large to show up on testing; in my opinion any child with autistic symptoms needs to be on vitamins, particularly the anti-oxidants, as many think our kids are all suffering extreme oxidative stress due to their early metabolic injuries and need mega-doses of vitamins to offset the brain damage that can come from oxidation. For yeast, in my opinion, diet is number one with strict removal of anything with refined sugar, probiotics is second, and anti-yeast measures are 3rd if it doesn't respond to 1 & 2. I try natural methods (lauricidin, aqua flora, GSE, etc) 1st and they don't work, usually use diflucan. Dr. JM Great Smokies Metabolic Analysis I just got the results of my sons urine analysis and the arabinose is very high , all other markers are in the reference range. I am starting Candex today. Are there more subtle imbalances that I should look for ? I am surprised that all vitamins were at 0. Does this mean he really has enough of these nutrients? His stool test showed yeast at +1 but the urine arabinose was at 8. I guess what we are doing for yeast is not enough. Any feedback would be appreciated. Guest guest
Dear Dr. McCandless, Thanks for answering my questions. I will definitely push on giving vitamins to help my son get well. My son has done really well on a variety of supplements that I have tried from reading your book and reading posts on the list. I am never quite sure what is helping but when we have had a big problem (such as using 5HTP, Pfeiffers MTP and Tomatis Listening) it is very clear. My son just went back on GSH TD and MSM and he has had a great few weeks. I guess this time around his system was able to cope. I am going to read up on the antioxidants and mega vitamins to see if I have missed something. His liver is struggling so I have to get him well. Thanks again, mom to --- Jaquelyn McCandless wrote: --------------------------------- : I use only Meta-Metrix, so can't comment on GSL results.
