Guest guest
Hi! I am new here. I am here because my grandfather has cirrhosis. He also has Porphyria. Is anyone here familiar with it? It dramatically increases your chance of getting liver disease. He has become quite ill in the last year, he has ascites and is doing the laxative treatment, he has a 1cm lesion on his liver that they have not biopsied because it has not changed in the last 6 months, they said it would be to invasive for him and not worth it. The encephalopathy has been getting worse, when he gets a build up of toxins and has a porphyria attack he is unconscious and becomes paralyzed it it really bad and looks like he will die, then he comes back. Does anyone have any idea what it going to happen next? He is 76. Thank you for your advice. Vernamonti
